Let me just say for the record that I just love Chipotle. That is by far my favorite fast food restaurant. But like other fast food restaurants, Chipotle often receives a bad rap. People will tell you real quick how fattening it can be. Sure it CAN be fattening and unhealthy, but so can a salad if you put enough dressing and bacon on it. When eating anything you have to be conscience of what you are adding to your meal. Same with eating a burrito at Chipotle.
Prior to worrying about your caloric consumption, you should get an physical assessment done. Figure out the amount of calories that your body should be taking in.
When eating at Chipotle or any restaurant, you need to be aware of the nutritional values of their menus. Like at Chipotle the flour tortilla (290 calories and 9 grams of fat) and a bag of chips (560 calories) alone will equal almost a full day of calories. Knowing the nutritional information on menu items will aid you in making healthy choices.
My suggestion to eating healthy at Chipotle is simple. Lose the wrap and go for a bowl. Add some rice (but not a lot), chicken or beef, lettuce, black beans (instead of the pinto beans), and pile on the fajita veggies. You will cut down on calories and have a sufficiently nutrient based meal.
