Have you ever sat down and wondered what is your life's purpose? This often happens during those moments of quiet solitude. Those times when your mind is able to block out everything that is going on around you. Those brief moments when someone is talking to you and you have heard a word that they said because your mind was elsewhere. Well it's quite simple really. You are put here to be impactful.
When we think about why we are here most times. We think about the things that we can do to make ourselves happy and concerned about the perception of others. We want people to like us. We desire attention and seek the means to gain it. We become concerned about impressing people rather than making an impression on them. If we focused more on how to we can change our communities for the better, just imagine how much better off our society would be.
Making a difference in the world is not glamorous. Reason being is because it takes time and a lot of hard work. We want the instant gratification that comes when we post a selfie and people like it. We want the pleasure that comes from attention we get when people acknowledge an attribute in our lives and display either admiration or envy. While that may feel good for a period of it won't last. We want to put on an front of being rich but not realizing what being rich truly means. It's not being able to count the amount of things money can buy but rather those that it can't.
You are here to be an agent of change.
I've made it my mission to focus on not what it is that I can display to people but what can I do to change their lives. What can I do to help enhance my environment for the better. With that comes the understanding that I may not be recognized for the things that I always do and being okay with that because that's not why I am doing them. I am doing them to be impactful on someone's life.
