Track and field is a competitive sport. You are putted against other individuals in a race of time and position. Even though you are competition against several other individuals. You are still competiting with yourself. You have to challenge yourself to put in the hard work and dedication to be the fastest. In sprinting you soon learn the importance of focusing on your lane and your run. The moment you look over into the next persons lane and worry about them. The more likely you are going to fall behind.
